MANAGEMENT TEAMRobert Honstein, Senior Managing DirectorRobert Honstein together with Barbara Brown is responsible for investment strategy and manager selection. For nearly ten years, Mr. Honstein managed a real asset fund-of-funds and direct investment portfolio for the Princeton University endowment. During Mr. Honstein’s tenure, Princeton’s real asset portfolio grew from less than $50 million in early 1991 to more than $800 million by June 2000. Prior to his experience with Princeton University, Mr. Honstein was a Partner at Matrix Development Group, a commercial and industrial real estate development firm in New Jersey. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a BS in Civil Engineering, Syracuse University with an MS in Environmental Engineering and earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Honstein currently serves as a Director of Output Exploration Company, a Houston based oil and gas exploration and development firm. He is a former Director of Walden Residential Properties and Affordable Residential Communities, both NYSE traded REITs, and Corporate Realty Investment Company. Barbara Brown, Senior Managing DirectorBarbara Brown shares responsibility with Robert Honstein for investment strategy and manager selection with a particular focus on real estate. Ms. Brown was previously a Senior Portfolio Manager of real estate equity investments at Allstate Insurance Company in Chicago. During her more than 25 years with Allstate, Ms. Brown was involved with ground-up development, direct property acquisitions and dispositions, and asset management. She oversaw more than $1 billion in commitments to real estate funds sponsored by others and managed an in-house $500 million public REIT portfolio. Ms. Brown is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Accountancy and earned an MBA from DePaul University. Ms. Brown currently serves as a Director of Sunstone Hotels, an NYSE traded REIT. Adrian Garcia, AssociateAdrian Garcia is responsible for investment due diligence, monitoring and performance analysis of Newlin’s partnership interests in underlying funds. Prior to joining Newlin, Mr. Garcia worked as an investment strategist for the non-profit business sector of SEI Investments and as a principal for an investment adviser focused on private equity, hedge fund, and real estate investments for high net worth individuals. Mr. Garcia has a BS in chemical engineering from Stanford University, and an MSE in operations research and financial engineering from Princeton University. |
